Notice of Reason for Snowplowing Increase
The Great Scott Township Board has decided to increase the fees for driveway plowing effective this season. They reviewed plowing cost over the last two years, reached an average expense, and found the township is not in compliance with State Laws, per MN Statue 160.21 Subd.2. The township has the authority to plow private driveways, but must charge the actual cost of plowing to the homeowner. Due to this, the cost for private driveway plowing will increase to $100 per driveway, effective 10/1/11. The plowing will be done as uaual, with trucks just opening up the driveway. No extra work will be done with the extra cost. If you have any questions, please call the town hall or attend a monthly meeting.

A Note from Foreman Jeff West
Driveways must be clear of obstructions at least 15 feet on both sides of the centerline (this includes brush, over hanging tree branches, stumps, rocks etc.)
This year, I will be inspecting and approving all driveways of the "special provisions" listed above. It is very important to get this work done if your driveway needs it.
Snow removal of private driveways will not begin until all township roads and fire halls are cleared of snow.
